Improvement
Häller paints over one half of the existing picture (still lifes, portraits, landscapes) with his personal style. (lat. ductus: character of the brushstroke)
He finds the existing pictures in second-hand shops, on the roadside, from friends and acquaintances.
"Improvement"! Irony? Arrogance? Sarcasm? Gimmicks? Rebellion?
The improvements are fascinating and unique. They are recognizable on closer look and often only at second glance. The contrasting painting techniques create impressive effects, and the juxtaposition of the concreteness and the "improvement" is expressive and shows a wonderful subtlety.
As an advocate of abstraction, Häller generates new dimensions in his artistic work with his improvements.
