push and pull

Inspired by the artistic work and teachings of Hans Hoffmann (1880 - 1966), Häller uses geometric shapes and color surfaces to explore the limits of pictorial structure.
With "push and pull" he returns to the origins of American Expressionism.
Häller no longer focusing on the pursuit of harmony and pictorial balance but looking instead to create pulsating contrasts.
The concept of "push and pull" refers to the use of color, form and space to create visual tension and movement.
